Ghyllmount News
We are pleased to welcome Courtney to Ghyllmount. She joins us as a qualified dental nurse and we are so pleased to have her join our team.
Ghyllmount Book Corner's chosen charity for 2022 is
'Cumbrian Quilters'.
Quilter Joyce Watts of Cumbrian Quilters Group makes heart-shaped cushions, drain bags and chemotherapy tote bags for local people having cancer treatments. She has done this for 10 years.
She co-ordinates a sewing group of 25 ladies and friends, who donate their work to the Cumberland Infirmary, West Cumberland Hospital, Hexham General,The RVI and Westmorland General Hospital.
The cushions are distributed by MacMillan Nurses. The group make cushions which are used for physical support after Breast Cancer surgery. The cushions are also a wonderful gesture of kindness and emotional support at a difficult time.
The tote bags help transport patient notes, toiletries and other necessities for those having chemotherapy.
Donations will fund sewing materials and transport costs to the cancer units. Thank you for your support.
As the year draws to an end we are pleased to make our final donation to the charity Bright Red in memory of our dear friend and colleague Lousie Fell.
We have donated a total of £600 to the charity, collected from donations from our patients and staff and our book corner.
We send our love and best wishes to Louise's family this Christmas. Louise is for ever in our thoughts. ❤️
We are pleased to have supported Penrith Chrtistmas lights in 2021 once more. Lovely to see Penrith sparkle.

We were very proud to have been recognised as a ‘Notable Practice’for our work with dementia during our recent CQC inspection.
We have made many changes to the practice to ensure that a visit to Ghyllmount is as good as can possibly be for patients living with dementia and our team are all ‘Dementia Friends’.
We are particularly proud of our ‘Please Be Patient’ badges that we created and are free for any visitors to collect, alongside Alzheimer’s memory handbooks.
We are delighted to introduce Rebecca Coates to the practice. Rebecca is the latest dentist to join the team. She starts in September working Tuesday's and Wednesday's. Rebecca is a local girl from Penrith and we look forward to her joining us.
Huge congratulations to Sasha Blamires who is now a newly qualified Dental Nurse!! Sasha has worked hard throughout her apprenticeship and now has gained her well earned qaulification.
Well done Sash the team are so proud of you and for all of your hard work
